Day 23: White Sands, Albuquerque
After waking up in a motel in Alamogordo, we drove to White Sands once more to catch the sunrise. We did not stay long and drove the long way back to Albuquerque where we cleaned the car, had great greek food and checked in at our final motel.
I will not start a new page for day 24, for it is another day without photos. :) Well, we got up very early to catch the mass ascension of the balloon fiesta, but while we were having breakfast we heard in TV that the ascension is cancelled due to wind. So we spent some hours shopping, returned our car, went to the airport, flew to Los Angeles, flew to Munich, and here I am.
It was a great trip, most things turned out as great as I expected or even greater. The things I was scared of did not happen (broken car, 2WD-car...), so I'm quite happy overall. I am already thinking of where to go next... maybe even again to the united States? There's still enough to see, for instance the Yellowstone Nation Park...
This, by the way, is the distribution of our costs. I'll be happy to provide more information in case anyone is interested in making a trip in the described region. However, there are loads of people knowing much more than I.
