Day 21: A-Shi-Sle-Pah Wilderness

We got up before sunset at the Bisti Badlands and drove to this place. In many aspects it is like the Bisti Badlands. We did not take many photos, tough -- because we were busy finding petrified trees and dinosaur bones! An incredible place!

Thumbnail Petrified Tree
I was hoping to find this petrified tree, because I knew it from a photo. My chances were small, for the area is huge, but I stumbled over it anyway! It looks like it got a clean cut from a chainsaw, but actually it just broke of, and to break in such a way is just the most economic! :) The next photo is another petrified tree, also very nice.

Thumbnail Dino bone?
Now this is awsome: A petrified bone that Tsuki found -- in very good condition, much better than the stuff we found in shops! It looks clearly like a piece of a backbone to us, however we have no idea if it is from a dinosaur or not. We're just sure it's petrified, because of the weight. (We found very light non-petrified bones for comparison :) )
When we were "done", we cooked some spaghetti and drove to Grants, the "uranium capital of the world", where we stayed for the night.
