Day 16: Little Wild Horse Canyon, Wild Horse Window, Goblin Valley
After our 4th night in Escalante and breakfast at the beautiful http://www.kivakoffeehouse.com/ (where we met people from Vorarlberg and Switzerland!) we headed for Goblin Valley to the north-east. We apssed through beautifully colored woods, did some shopping in Hanksville and entered the Goblin Valley State Park.
First stop: Little Wild Horse Canyon. Very nice and quite long. Near the end we had some drops of rain and we got scared of a possible flash-flood. So we almost ran
back to the car. :) More info: http://www.synnatschke.de/lwhc/lwhc.html
There was time left for the Wild Horse Window ( http://www.zehrer-online.de/htm_hikes_wildhorsewindow.htm ). Nice hole in the ceiling, and some rock art. After that, we were already quite tired, but before we returned to the campground, I spent 15 minutes to look at the "goblins". Then we cooked dinner. After eating, we were invited to s'mores ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S'mores ) by a nice couple from Colorado.
